NEA Task 4: Introduction to an existing film magazine Bauer (Empire)

 What does the magazine say about itself and it's readership?

|The media pack is accessed by companies who wish to advertise their products and services within Empire magazine which is owned by Bauer Media Group. 

They state that they are the world's most influential film and entertainment brand. Their entity comprises of a print magazine, podcast, website and digital edition. It also houses an arm that deals with live events. Their target audience differs when compared to the one in our set brief as my set audience age range is between the ages of 18 and 25 whereas the age of Empire's premier readership is for 18-40 year olds. 

Bauer are keen to put across that Empire is a prestigious and well respected magazine. For example it is mentioned that ''nobody speaks to more film fans accross the world with more authority'' than them. 

Within their media pack it mentions that they have the bigest film studios and best actors. They also say that Empire create content that no other brand could pull off. 


Empire also utakise unparalleled actors so that Bauer can put out premium and polished content. 


Statistics show that Empire readership is three - quarters male at 77% between the ages of 18-40. Additionally they show that these people are in employment and in a relationship although not necesarilly married. They are also university educated and time poor. This is key because they use film and cinema as escapism and a pass into other worlds.  Research shows that these people are key features as they are key inflences in their group of family and friends.

Now more than ever, them and their family have access to film related content 24/7.
